Every church in Arkansas Valley Baptist Asssociation is entitled to three Executive Board Members. The pastor counts as one Executive Board member by virtue of his position. Therefore, each church should elect two lay people (male or female) to serve as additional representation for their body of believers. The AVBA Constitution provides the guidelines as follows: "Section 1 – Membership: The Executive Board of this Association shall be composed of the Officers of the Association together with the Pastor of each church cooperating with this body. Additionally it shall be the privilege of each church to present the name of two of its members to the Association as Executive Board members."
